As part of a debut celebration Sept. 30, Domain Northside will unveil a new sculpture on the lawn at the center of the new development.
Austin-based developer Endeavor Real Estate Group partnered with Flying Carpet Creative, a public sculpture company headquartered in Houston, to create the art installation for the new lawn, which will also feature an amphitheater and stage.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part Domain Northside and add such a monumental sculpture to the new community,” said Nicholas Moser, a representative of Flying Carpet Creative. “Flying Carpet Creative is committed to delivering cutting-edge artwork that’s fresh in both form and use of appropriate materials. Our core development team blends capabilities in aesthetic, structural and logistical arenas while connecting places with the people that inhabit them.”
The sculpture is called Rhyz and includes a woven stainless steel canopy on top of three concrete pillars. Flying Carpet created other sculptures in Houston, including Funnel Tunnel and Trumpet Flower.
The sculpture will serve as a shade structure during the day and a lit-up installation at night. View a video of the creation of the installation
