P Thai’s Khao Man Gai

Fewer than three months after closing the Research Boulevard location, P Thai’s Khao Man Gai will reopen at its new spot on Airport Boulevard in April. Serving Thai-Chinese fusion dishes, owner Thai Changthong specializes in khao man gai, or Thai-style Hainanese chicken and rice. Austin resident Laura Galos will host a grand opening celebration for the Nordic-inspired bakery March 30 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at its new spot inside Malone Specialty Coffee. Galos draws from her Finnish heritage to create goods, such as honey-lavender buns, salted chocolate-toffee cookies, a signature ​​Swedish cardamom bun and more.Frost Financial Center

Expected to cost around $6 million, the 4,300-square-foot location will offer a range of personal and commercial financial services. The new center is part of the institution's plans to double the number of Frost Banks in the Austin area from 17 to 34 in the next two years.Idea Labs Kids

A Tim Horton's franchise is planned to open near the end of 2024 or start of 2025, a company representative confirmed to Community Impact on Feb. 26. It will be located between Austin and Round Rock. Texas cuisine-inspired restaurant Haywire will offer locally sourced cuts of steak, salads, soups, sides and more. The new two-story location will have an indoor bar on the first floor and an indoor-outdoor bar on the second floor. Haywire carries over 400 bottles of wine and over 200 whisky selections.Solaris House

Brandywine Realty Trust and ZRS Management will open a multifamily residential space at Uptown ATX—a 66-acre mixed-used, multilevel community. Solaris House will be a 23,000-square-foot, 341-unit project with indoor and outdoor amenities, including a park and pool.Eggs Up Grill


Breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant Eggs Up Grill will expand its Texas presence with eight new locations planned for the Austin metro area. Four locations will be opened in the North Austin area by Michael and Rana Bosleah, who also own Hurricane Grill & Wings in Round Rock and Levant Café & Grill in Cedar Park. An initial North Austin-area location of the restaurant franchise, which first opened in South Carolina, is expected to open later this year.Frosty Fox

Lake Travis Zipline Adventures

The business reopened for the spring, summer and fall seasons, offering three-hour guided experiences featuring five of the longest zip lines in Texas. Alongside zip-lining over Lake Travis, the adventure includes hiking through the Texas Hill Country with professional tour guides. The minimum weight for zip-lining is 70 pounds, and the maximum is 250 pounds.Closings

The Austin Antique Mall

Forty years after opening its doors, the antique mall will shutter to make way for an expansion of Playland Skate Center. The Austin Antique Mall is home to nearly 100 vendors selling curios, such as furniture, jewelry, toys and more.Fat Dragon Sushi Bar

Two months after opening, Fat Dragon Sushi Bar closed indefinitely. Co-owners Dr. Humphrey Ho and Dr. May Chen—who also own the restaurant next door, Fat Dragon—said he and Chen were forced to close the sushi bar in January due to a shortage of available workers, and he is unsure when the sushi bar can reopen.
