Leander ISD will host several public meetings in May to solicit public opinions about a possible attendance zoning option when the district's future Tom Glenn High School opens in fall 2016.
The district plans to present Scenario N to the public for feedback. Scenario N is a draft of a possible zoning option that is subject to change, according to LISD. At the board's April 16 meeting, LISD Superintendent Bret Champion said Scenario N is a "starting point" for conversation within the district. Parents and community members may also provide feedback on the district's rezoning website.
LISD's board of trustees have discussed attendance zoning options for months before the public meetings. The board decided April 16 to present Scenario N to the public in May.
Upcoming meetings:
- May 11 at 7 p.m. at Cedar Park Middle School's cafeteria, 2100 Sun Chase Blvd., Cedar Park
- May 19 at 7 p.m. at Stiles Middle School's cafeteria, 3250 Barley Road, Leander
- May 20 at 7 p.m. at Running Brushy Middle School, 2303 N. Lakeline Blvd., Cedar Park
Trustees are expected to learn about the public's feedback at two board meetings scheduled for June 2 and 18. The board could make a decision about an attendance zoning option in July.
