Offering a variety of wares dating as far back as the mid-1800s, Cherry Street Antiques has found quick success in the Tomball community since opening in July 2013.
"Our [business] is a success story," said Chuck Harper, owner of Cherry Street Antiques. "We've been so happy to be here. The people that come here often from town bring their relatives, and it's just amazing."
Displayed along the floors, walls and ceilings, the 6,000-square-foot store stocks thousands of antiques from 23 local vendors, Harper said. Antiques for sale include classic toys and memorabilia, such as printed lunchboxes and action figures, record players, vinyl records, books, signs, home fixtures and large pieces of furniture.
"We feel like we have enough stuff to appeal to the novice and the older, more established collectors," Harper said. "When people come in, it's all about the nostalgia. I think we are one of the only true antique shops in Tomball."
The store maintains a waiting list of about 50 vendors seeking a place to sell their wares, Harper said.
"We have our regular crowd, and of course [this] being Tomball with all of [the city's] wonderful events, we get a lot of people that just come in," Harper said. "If they're travelers, they don't leave with furniture and all—they leave with [small items], but it's still a good market."
