Tree house–themed patio bar The Knotty Deck opened Oct. 1, featuring a view of the Arboretum hills, fire pits, specialty cocktails and seven different local craft beers.

The bar, located at the back of the Austin Renaissance Hotel at 9721 Arboretum Blvd., has indoor seating and a large partially covered patio that can seat about 48 people. The deck is a nonsmoking area.

Specialty drinks include the Austin Mule, which is made with Deep Eddy Ruby Red Grapefruit Vodka, and the Lavender Lemon Drop.

The Knotty Deck also includes a food menu with Texas-inspired items such as stuffed jalapeos made with brisket that is cooked for 16 hours and wrapped in hickory-smoked bacon or crispy masa corn cakes. The dish is served with charred tomato salsa.

Live music will be played at the bar, which is open to hotel guests and the public daily from 3–11 p.m.
