Peter Wysocki, director of Planning and Development for the City of Round Rock, resigned his position effective Dec. 7 in order to take a similar job in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Wysocki, who began his employment with the city in 2010, oversaw Round Rock's Planning and Development Department as well as the Inspection Services Department during his tenure.
City Council members and city officials took turns thanking Wysocki for his services to Round Rock at the council's Dec. 6 meeting.
"We appreciate everything you did for us," Mayor Alan McGraw said. "Please keep in touch."
Round Rock City Manager Steve Norwood credited Wysocki's work for helping further the city's growth.
"His strong leadership skills and sense of humor will be missed," Norwood said in a written statement. "We are sorry to lose Peter's skill and integrity. The City of Colorado Springs is getting a talented professional."
According to the city, Development Services Manager Brad Wiseman will take over the position vacated by Wysocki on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is found.
