In order to help accommodate a growing city, Leander Public Library officials will host a public meeting July 25 to receive and discuss input from residents on the facility's ideal use moving forward.

"We're planning for the next few years," Library Director Priscilla Donovan said in a release. "As Leander continues its rapid growth, the library must develop along with it and provide the resources and programs our users need. To make sure the library is moving in the right direction, we're encouraging community input. We want to give the public this opportunity to let us know what may be on their library wish list."

A collection of books, audiobooks, music and films helps accumulate a collection of more than 42,000 various resources, and the library averages 10,000 visitors per month. Furthermore, close to 8,200 people attend 650 programs, including story times, game nights, book clubs, computer classes, summer reading program and other special events.

"The library provides a lot of added value to Leander, but there's always room for improvement," Donovan said. "We aspire to greatness and to achieve greatness we need to hear from the people that the library serves. We'd also like to hear from folks who don't use the library regularly, to find out what they might like to see offered."

The library will hold the community meeting on July 25, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Conference Room C of the Leander Public Library, 1011 S Bagdad Road.
