Leander ISD Superintendent Bret Champion named two new elementary school principals on June 26, about two months before the first day of school, Aug. 27.

Keith Morgan was named principal of Naumann Elementary School, and Mark Koller is the new principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary School.

"I am very pleased to welcome Keith and Mark as principals of these fantastic schools," Champion said. "Both have proven to have a strong commitment to building relationships with students, parents and staff to support cultures of student learning. I am confident Keith and Mark will continue to work with teachers and staff to guide the students of Naumann and Pleasant Hill to even greater heights of achievement."

Morgan started work in LISD in 2000 and taught mathematics at Cedar Park and Vista Ridge high schools. He also served as assistant principal at Cedar Park Middle School, Vista Ridge High School and most recently at Naumann Elementary School.

Morgan earned his bachelor's degree at St. Edward's University and his master's degree from Texas State University. He is currently working to complete his doctoral degree at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Koller began his career in LISD in 2006 as a fourth-grade teacher at Plain Elementary School. He served as an instructional technology facilitator at Steiner Ranch, River Place and Laura Welch Bush elementary schools before spending the last four years as assistant principal of Plain Elementary.

Koller earned his bachelor's degree from Texas State University and a master's degree from Lamar University.

Morgan follows Sande Powledge as principal of Naumann Elementary, who announced her resignation earlier this month. Koller replaces Lana Collier as principal of Pleasant Hill Elementary. Collier retired in June.
