Austin foodies and The Domain will unite for the Taste North Austin food festival Saturday, June 9.

The event will feature local restaurants, cooking demonstrations, live music and children's activities from 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

Festivalgoers will be able to sample the tastes and spirits of more than 20 North Austin restaurants including Kona Grill, Maggiano's Little Italy and Austin Cake Ball Kitchen & Bar, as well as watch an Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts cooking demonstration.

Children will be able to have their faces painted, enjoy balloons and a musical performance from the Biscuit Brothers.

Spokeswoman Katelyn Roche said event organizers expect this year's Taste of North Austin to draw a few thousand guests.

Visitors can listen to music and watch cooking demonstrations for free, but will need to purchase a $20 wristband to try 10 samples and take part in children's activities. Wristbands will be available in the guest services area of The Domain.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase at select restaurant booths.

The VIP experience is available for an additional $5 donation to featured charities, including Center for Child Protection, Make a Wish Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

VIPs will receive shaded seating, drink tickets for the VIP bar and goodie bags for the first 200 donors.
