The City of Georgetown is hosting a new live music summer concert series on the Square on Fridays in June, July and August.

Music on the Square begins June 8 with country-western performer Cowboy Nemo.

Each performance is free and will run from 6–8 p.m. on the southeast corner of the Williamson County Courthouse lawn near Eighth and Main streets.

Other upcoming performances include classic rock performers Xander and Ben on June 15 and jazz musician Cactus Groove on June 22.

The event is sponsored by the Georgetown Convention & Visitors Bureau and The Williamson Museum.

The CVB also launched a new smartphone application, Explore Georgetown, on April 27. The free application is a mobile visitor's guide and features calendar events, dining options, local attractions, weather, lodging options and maps. The application will also include information about Music on the Square.
