With 56 of 56 precincts reporting unofficial results, Commissioner Ron Davis has won the Democratic primary in Precinct 1. The vote breakdown is as follows:

Davis: 4,575 votes, or 52.66 percent

Victor Gonzales: 1,620 votes or 18.65 percent

Richard Franklin III: 1,409 votes, or 16.22 percent

Arthur Sampson: 1,084 votes, or 12.48 percent

With 42 of 56 precincts reporting unofficial results, Community Impact Newspaper is projecting Precinct 1 County Commissioner Ron Davis to win his Democratic primary.

Davis has 4,129 votes, or 54 percent. Victor Gonzales has 1,398 votes, or 18.28 percent. Richard Franklin III has 1,151 votes, or 15.05 percent. Arthur Sampson has 969 votes, or 12.67 percent.

When reached by phone Tuesday night, Davis said the voters had spoken clearly and had endorsed his campaign. He said he intends to continue his "progressive and aggressive" work representing the citizens of Precinct 1.

He cited among his accomplishments lobbying to keep an Austin Community College campus in East Austin and improving quality of life issues there.

Ron Davis: 3,584 votes, or 53.29 percent

Victor Gonzales: 1,279 votes, or 19.02 percent

Richard Franklin III: 1,023 votes, or 15.21 percent

Arthur Sampson: 839 votes, or 12.48 percent

With 17 of 56 precincts unofficially reporting, Ron Davis maintains his early lead from unofficial early voting totals, according to Travis County.

Davis has 2,630 votes, or 51.84 percent.

Victor Gonzales has 1,020 votes, or 20.11 percent.

Richard Franklin III has 815 votes, or 16.07 percent.

Arthur Sampson has 608 votes, or 11.99 percent.

Ron Davis won the majority of support in early voting, according to unofficial results from Travis County.

Davis won 1,889 votes, or 53.24 percent of votes cast.

Victor Gonzales won 688 votes, or 19.39 percent.

Richard Franklin III won 552 votes, or 15.56 percent.

Arthur Sampson won 419 votes, or 11.81 percent.

In the May 29 primary election, Ron Davis, Travis County Precinct 1 commissioner, faces three fellow Democrats—Richard Franklin III, Victor Gonzales and Arthur Sampson.

Davis, a native Austinite, has represented Precinct 1 since 1998.

Franklin, a Del Valle ISD board trustee, is the local director of Youth Unlimited. He is a former business owner and financial advisor.

Gonzales is the mayor pro tem of the City of Pflugerville. He is a former medical social worker, adult training program counselor and Travis County assistant director for human services.

Sampson has worked for the city of Austin for more than 30 years. He is a former Texas peace officer and a small-business owner.
