Austin Energy will be closing a portion of a trail in the North Star Greenbelt during the month of April so crews can upgrade 2 miles of transmission lines.
The greenbelt, located in the Gracywoods neighborhood at 11701 Tallow Field Way, has a 1.5-mile trail that meanders from Tallow Field Way to Swearingen Drive just north of Braker Lane.
Austin Energy will close just the portion between Prairie Hen Lane and Bittern Hollow.
The trail will be closed only weekdays April 2–27 from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and park users can still use the trail in the early morning and evening hours as well as on the weekends.
Other nearby trails that residents can use during the trail's closure are located at the Walnut Creek Metro Park, 12138 N. Lamar Blvd., Gracywoods Neighorhood Park, 12133 Metric Blvd., and Quail Creek Park, 1101 Mearns Meadow Blvd.
