The city of New Braunfels is now accepting public input regarding the annual street maintenance plan.

Each year, funds are allocated to street projects through the annual budget, according to the city.

Approximately $1.6 million was allocated in the fiscal year 2021-22 budget to fund over 50 road projects, according to the city.

“Over the last five years, the city has taken on approximately $9 million in street maintenance projects along with more than $100 million in roadway and drainage repairs from the 2013 and 2019 bonds,” Public Works Department Director Greg Malatek said. “Each project is selected based on the necessity of the project along with input from New Braunfels residents.”

An in-person public forum is scheduled for July 18 at 6 p.m. at New Braunfels City Hall, located at 550 Landa St., where residents will hear about which roads are eligible for funding through the FY 2022-23 budget.

Attendees will receive instructions for submitting input at the end of the meeting, and an online survey will be available from July 18-29 at www.nbtexas.org/streetsurvey.
