Texas Tito’s, a New Braunfels-based company that sells a variety of individually packaged pickles, is slated to build a new facility near 1286 River Road on a property purchased by the company.

The business was founded in San Antonio in 1998 and relocated to New Braunfels in 2000, Texas Tito’s President Chris Snider said in an email. The current facility is located at 1411 FM 1101.

Texas Tito’s began by selling individually packaged pickled jalapeno slices before expanding into other types of pickles and shipping products around the world, Snider said.

“The company has enjoyed sustained, controlled growth for well over a decade. A greater emphasis on the sanitary nature of prepackaged condiments has led to increased demand in the past two years,” Snider wrote. “Our hope is that this new facility provides room for growth for the next 5 years or so.”

Snider said the company is finalizing the design of the new facility that will be nearly 40,000 square feet and cost between $4 million-$5 million to construct. He anticipates breaking ground this year and completing the project in 2023.

The facility will hold the company's business office, a warehouse and a production facility.

Before work can begin on the facility, a water line is needed to set fire hydrants at the location, he said, and Texas Tito’s is working with the city of New Braunfels to ensure adequate utilities are available at the site.

Once complete, Snider said the expansion will bring additional jobs to New Braunfels and provide opportunities for the company to continue to grow.

“Future expansions and building additions have been planned into the initial design to allow for long-term growth,” Snider wrote. “The building includes many new features that will allow for more efficient operations. The warehouse is much taller than our current building with wider column spacing so we can get a lot more product within the same square footage.”
