New Braunfels Utilities is creating a new Community Advisory Panel, giving residents an opportunity to be involved in a multitude of utility projects.

The gist

The NBU board of trustees approved the creation of this new board in August, and applications are open to all customers through Oct. 16.

The panel will consist of 13 members:
  • Seven nominated by City Council
  • Four appointed by the NBU board of trustees
  • Two at-large members selected through the application process
Members chosen for the panel will work and offer input on projects and topics, such as water conservation, energy supply and costs, revenue needs and more.

The panel will meet monthly, and members will serve up to a three-year term.
