“Mr. Brown will fill a critical role in the district administration and brings with him the expertise we need to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for the nearly 10,000 students we expect to enroll in NBISD this fall,” Superintendent of Schools Cade Smith said in a statement. “Every year, we work diligently to improve our safety practices, and Mr. Brown will continue to uphold that work and move it forward.”
Brown has prior experience serving as the assistant director of safety and security for three years at Greenley Evans School District in Greenley, Colorado. He was the high school resource officer for GESD for five years before taking the assistant director position. Brown was also a police officer for nine years with the Greenley Police Department.
“I’m extremely blessed to be at NBISD. I look forward to working with community stakeholders to build and grow established safety protocols. I’m so honored to be part of this community,” Brown said in a statement.
Brown earned his bachelor’s degree from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, and is a certified peace officer in Colorado.
