Comal ISD will host two free immunization/vaccination opportunities for district students.

Regardless of whether a student will be participating in on-campus or remote instruction, all students must provide an updated immunization record to enroll.

The first opportunity will be Aug. 17 for incoming seventh-grade students, and the second will be Aug. 24 for any student under the age of 18 and will take place at the following locations:

  • Aug. 17: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Spring Branch Middle School, 21053 Hwy. 46, Spring Branch. Communicare will offer Tdap, meningitis and HPV vaccines for free.

  • Aug. 24: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Canyon Middle School, 2014 FM 1101, New Braunfels. Aurora Concepts Family Medical Practice will offer immunizations and accepts private insurance, CHIP and Medicaid.

A $5 fee will be charged for uninsured students, and families can register for an appointment online.

Only one parent or guardian will be permitted to accompany each student, and everyone must wear a mask and bring a copy of the child’s immunization record, an insurance card if available and a registry consent form that can be found online.

Vaccines will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will end when all vaccine supplies have been used.
