Comal County was recently recognized in two statewide magazines for its University of County Government course, which introduces attendees to the role and function of county government.

Texas County Progress, which is published by the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas, featured the program in its February edition in a piece titled “6 years and still going strong.”

County Magazine, which is published by the Texas Association of Counties, called out the course in its January-February issue’s list of “9 ways to celebrate county government month this April.”

“I think it says Comal County is taking steps to being a responsible and transparent government here in the county and trying to help people understand what county government is responsible for and what county government does,” said Comal County Judge Sherman Krause. “The elected officials in Comal County, even though we have our differences and disagreements, we have enough respect for each other and the offices we hold to make something like this work for the benefit of our county.”
