The sisters started 2tarts in 2009 in a rented kitchen before opening their current café on North Castell Avenue in July 2010.
According to a press release, Ryan and Landerman are heavily involved in the community and are active in the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Association, and the Wein & Saengerfest Planning Committee.
“I believe 2tarts has been successful for two main reasons. One, we understood how important community is here in New Braunfels, and quickly got involved with community organizations,” Ryan said in a press release. “Two, we adapted. We listen to every customer’s feedback to make sure that we’re staying on top of dietary trends and specialty items that our customers can only get here at the bakery.”
The duo have been recognized for their work in national publications and Landerman won the Food Network Christmas Cookie Challenge in 2019.
The sisters will be honored at the May 26 City Council meeting and by the Comal County Commissioners Court.
