Through this plan, the city’s consultant team recommended that Liberty Hill officials:

  • Explore alternative routes and transportation methods instead of over-relying on Hwy. 29 and US 183.
  • Make the pedestrian experience more pleasant.
  • Create spaces for community gathering and recreation.
  • Connect essential services and amenities to neighborhoods.
  • Build a variety of housing and neighborhood types.
  • Offer more options for affordable housing.
Marshall Hines, who is part of the city’s consultant team, provided an overview of what’s included in the comprehensive plan at the Oct. 11 City Council meeting. The plan includes:
  • Options for future development
  • An implementation plan for the outlined recommendations
  • Cost to maintain existing infrastructure in Liberty Hill
  • Fiscal analysis of properties citywide, which includes property value per acre
  • Liberty Hill’s development history
  • Public feedback garnered throughout the process
The 2023 comprehensive plan is expected to accommodate roughly 84,404 new residents through the next 17 years.
