Wiley Middle School Principal Chris Simpson has been named the new principal of Leander High School, LISD Superintendent Dan Troxell announced Thursday.

“I am pleased to announce Chris Simpson as the new principal for Leander High School,” Troxell said. “Mr. Simpson is a strong instructional leader who has demonstrated an ability to create a campus learning culture with a clear focus on student growth and high achievement.”

Simpson has been with the school district for 17 years and has served as principal of Wiley since 2014. Before that, he was an assistant principal at Wiley Middle School and Rouse High School.

Simpson earned a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and a master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University in Beaumont.
