Bagdad Road from Collaborative Way to Halsey Drive is now closed for street widening, according to the
city of Leander's website.
The closure began June 21 and will run through August.
The Bagdad widening project is scheduled to expand a two-lane section of the road into five lanes with curb, gutter and sidewalks from Hero Way West to San Gabriel Parkway, according to the
city of Leander’s website. The five lanes will merge into three lanes 1,300 feet north of San Gabriel, and the three-lane portion will end at Collaborative Way.
The project includes applying temporary asphalt to local road connections along the east side of Bagdad from San Gabriel to Hero Way West, which will begin June 25, according to the city’s website.
Northbound and southbound traffic on Bagdad Road may detour their way around the road closure by driving down Collaborative Way and Halsey Drive.
