Cedar Park City Council is set to consider a request for a veterinary clinic on Woodall Drive.
The Cedar Park Planning & Zoning Commission approved a final plat and recommended approval of a rezoning for Whitestone Animal Hospital at its meeting Feb. 20.
The proposal to rezone the property, approximately 1.32 acres at 3300 Woodall Drive, from development reserve to heavy commercial is scheduled to be discussed during a first reading and public hearing at a council meeting this Thursday, according to the agenda packet.
Whitestone Animal Hospital is projected to be a 5,000-square-foot animal clinic, according to the commission's agenda packet.
“We’re kind of pet central at that end of Cedar Park, right next to Veteran’s Park,” Planning & Zoning Commission Chair Randy Strader said.
According to the city of Cedar Park’s Code of Ordinances, development reserve is an interim zoning designation before permanent zoning is established. The future land use plan for the property on Woodall Drive is heavy commercial, in line with the zoning classification request, Planning Manager Melissa McCollum said.
