The YMCA of Austin has partnered with the YMCA of San Antonio to offer a virtual gaming league for ages 12-14 and 15-17. The league will feature tournaments for several multiplayer online games such as Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, Madden 22, FIFA 22, Fortnite, Mario Kart, NBA 2K 22 and Magic: The Gathering Arena to allow players from the Austin-San Antonio region to compete against each other. The gaming leagues will run over six weeks, beginning Jan. 26. The YMCA encourages players to sign up with their friends and form teams, but players also have the option of being placed on teams. Matches will be played on weekday evenings and monitored by a YMCA staff member or parent volunteer. The deadline for registration is Jan. 24, with a fee of $60 for members of the YMCA and $75 for nonmembers. More information on the program is available on the
YMCA of Austin website.
