The Contemporary Austin announced Nov. 21 the addition of a new sculpture by Spanish artist Juan Muñoz at its lakeside location. The Laguna Gloria Sculpture Park, located at 3809 W. I-35, Austin, received the sculpture titled “Last Conservation Piece, 1994-1995” as an ongoing loan from the Smithsonian’s’ Hirshhorn Musem and Sculpture Garden. The piece depicts five cast bronze human-like forms gathered in conversation, according to a press release from The Contemporary Austin.
“Imbued with a sense of storytelling, the figures appear caught in a passionate discussion—three bodies huddled together as if teetering on their rounded forms, while two others hover at a distance,” the release said.
The piece is among 20 outdoor sculptures at Laguna Gloria. 512-458-8191. www.thecontemporaryaustin.org
