The Eanes ISD Board of Trustees accepted Aug. 9 a $146,880 donation to put toward classroom space for the new Westlake High School business incubator course which launches this fall. The brainchild of Superintendent Tom Leonard, the business incubator course is titled “Entrepreneurship & Enterprise” and allows juniors and seniors to learn business and marketing concepts, form a business idea and pitch the business to a panel of judges in the hopes their product will be sponsored. Donation contributors—which EEF Executive Director Kathi Haralson said include local residents and business owners— requested the funds be used specifically to improve a space at WHS for the business incubator classroom. “It’s going to be really, really cool,” Leonard said about the classroom.
