Lake Travis ISD board of trustees discussed a potential $1.2 million-$1.5 million budget provision for out-of-district water services during a Sept. 18 meeting.
The projects, to be funded by the 2018 bond, include an interlocal agreement between LTISD and Cypress Ranch Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 for water services on the 233.34 acres of land owned by LTISD at Reimers Peacock Road.
The land at the site could potentially be used for a future high school or middle school, according to Robert Winovitch, LTISD director of facilities and construction.
Per the agreement, Cypress Ranch Water Control will provide retail and wastewater services to future educational facilities located on the land off of Hwy. 71, which will require Cypress Ranch WCID to expand its existing well-field and wastewater facilities.
“This will give us flexibility in the future on what we do with that site, how we develop it, what kind of educational facilities we put on that site,” Winovitch said, adding that the final cost will be presented to the board in October.
Action on the interlocal agreement will be requested during the Oct. 16 board meeting.
