Lakeway business Love & Cookies won first place in H-E-B’s Quest for Texas Best ninth annual competition with owner Ashley Cameron’s gourmet frozen cookie dough, which will be sold in H-E-B stores statewide.

Out of more than 500 entries, top competitors won a combined $80,000 in cash prizes. Cameron won $20,000 for her product, which has eight preportioned cookies in the following flavors: M&M-Hank, ChocolateChip-CharlieCash, Triple Chocolate-Cashley and Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip-Gluten Free CharlieCash. The cookies take 15 minutes to bake.

Love & Cookies was started in 2019 after Cameron’s 5-year-old son was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children. Soon after her son returned home and wanted to bake cookies with her, she opened a storefront with 14 gourmet flavors baked on-site.

The H-E-B’s Quest for Texas Best competition was started in 2014 and has put over 860 products from businesses such as Love & Cookies onto its shelves.
