Williamson County Fair and Rodeo
Residents can look forward to family fun for everyone with a variety of competitive rodeo events and games. Individuals can participate in a “Rumble at the Rodeo” vegetable contest and a decorated pumpkin contest from 10-11 a.m. on Oct. 26 in addition to the other fair activities.

Local businesses and organizations will pass out candy to trick-or-treaters and there will be games available for attendees at Georgetown Parks & Recreation’s annual event. A movie will be shown at the Legacy Pavilion after trick-or-treating ends at 7 p.m. Costumes are encouraged.

The author will have a conversation with New York Times bestselling local author Ali Hazelwood about Okosun’s new book. The book is the second book in a series that follows Nigerian mythology and includes themes of romance, war, magic and unity.

The night will feature a 45-minute performance by the Central Texas Philharmonic string quartet. Lindsey Brisbine, the host of The Chilling Podcast, will tell scary stories. Doors open at 6 p.m. with tarot readings and an in-house metaphysical shop provided by Silver Moon Curios.

Exceptional Georgetown Alliance will host its annual fundraising event featuring a 5K chip-timed run, a one-mile fun run and a kids costume contest. Proceeds from the event will go toward EGA’s mission to provide summer camp, sports and recreation opportunities for children with cognitive and physical disabilities.

Hosted by Wolf Ranch at Hillwood, a master-planned community, and the Wolf Ranch Residential Community’s Homeowners Association, the event will feature a one-mile spooky fun run, music, food, raffles, a pumpkin patch, bounce houses, a petting zoo, complimentary drinks and vendor booths. Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. All proceeds from the fun run, activities and raffles will go to Georgetown ISD.

The 50-minute show is based on the classic tale of an unlikely friendship between a spider and a pig. The play will be hosted by the Georgetown Palace Theatre and features themes of friendship and the importance of loyalty. The show is appropriate for all ages but is recommended for ages 5-12.

Dogs and their owners are invited to attend the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. It will include silent auctions, live auctions, an artist specializing in metal work, raffles, live entertainment and a pup pamperer offering nail trims. Fur Ball
The Williamson County Animal Shelter will host its 15th annual fundraising gala presented by Best Friends Animal Society. The event will feature a silent auction, a live auction and a wine toss. All proceeds from the ball will go toward the shelter’s fostering program. Attire is cocktail to formal and only ages 16 and up are allowed entry.

Hosted by the Sun City Community Association, the annual event will include over 100 craft vendors indoors and outdoors on the back patio and in the Sun City Social Center and Craft Center. A variety of Sun City clubs are scheduled to participate, including creative clay and china, fabric and fiber, stained glass, and woodworking.

The annual fundraiser will benefit First Baptist Georgetown’s Children's Weekday Education, a Christian preschool offering child care and classes for toddlers to kindergarten-age children. Attendees can expect food vendors, home goods, jewelry, fine arts, toys, themed gift baskets and clothing for all ages.

The Rotary Club of Georgetown will host the eighth annual event displaying 2,000 full-size flags. The flags will honor military personnel, veterans, first responders, K9 units and equestrian heroes. Flags can be purchased and dedicated online or at the event. Funds raised from flag sales benefit nonprofit organizations that provide services to veterans and first responders. Attendees can expect a grand opening event for the field on Nov. 10 at 1:30 p.m. and a Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

The Sun City Texas Community Association will host the annual ceremony featuring service recognition; a performance by the Georgetown High School band and orchestra; and guest speaker Command Sergeant Major Michelle L. Thompson, the senior enlisted advisor to the deputy adjutant general for the state of Texas.

Individuals can celebrate Thanksgiving by participating in the annual run hosted by Bodies Race Company. The kid’s dash will be untimed and is open to ages 10 and under. Participants will receive a mini bib, a youth-sized shirt and a kid’s dash pin. The one-mile run registration includes a designer shirt and a challenge pin. 1K and 5K registration includes a custom bib, a designer shirt and a finisher medal. Treats will be provided at the finish line and chip-timing with live results and rewards will be available.
