Candidates file to run for Georgetown mayor, City Council seats

The deadline to file for a place on the May 2 election ballot was Feb. 14. As of 5:05 p.m., a total of eight people have filed for three Georgetown City Council positions: mayor, District 2 council member and District 6 council member.

The mayor and council members serve terms of three years, and the people elected to these positions will be in office until May 2023.
