Carol Hardy, a breast cancer survivor, shared her story with the crowd.[/caption] Balloon Release Oct. 21 St. David's Georgetown Hospital hosted a balloon release to honor breast cancer survivors and patients on Friday to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer survivors and family and friends of patients released white and pink balloons to honor women who have lost their lives and celebrate those who have survived breast cancer. Proceeds from each balloon benefitted Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas. Carol Hardy, a breast cancer survivor, also shared her story and the importance of breast cancer awareness.   Teams competing in 50 Fellas Foodfest cooked either appetizers, entrees or desserts. Teams competing in 50 Fellas Foodfest cooked either appetizers, entrees or desserts.[/caption] 50 Fellas Foodfest Oct. 22 Benefiting the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation, the fundraiser featured 50 teams, including Mayor Dale Ross, Superintendent Fred Brent, Police Chief Wayne Nero and others showcasing their culinary talent with appetizers, entrees and desserts. The food was judged by popular vote.
