Construction started in April on the new 117,000-square-foot H-E-B in Wolf Lakes Village in Georgetown, said Donald McLachlan, one of the proprietors of the development.

The grocery store will include a barbecue restaurant, a car wash and a fuel station. The H-E-B is set to open in spring 2023.

McLachlan and his wife, Iva, shared a presentation April 11 to local developers that provided construction updates regarding the 164-acre mixed-use tax increment reinvestment zone, or TIRZ. First, Seton Medical will transform 12 acres into a multistory medical office and surgical center starting in June.

“My wife Iva and I care deeply about Georgetown,” McLachlan said. “Her parents came here and began investing in Georgetown almost 75 years ago. We have a passion to be good stewards of the land and opportunities that God has given us to make Georgetown and Wolf Lakes Village a wonderful place to live and work for many decades to come.”

The McLachlans' other properties include Wolf Ranch Town Center, Wolf Ranch North and Wolf Ranch Hillwood.

The city of Georgetown and Williamson County unanimously approved a $130 million TIRZ for Wolf Lakes Village in 2018.

The city’s portion of the TIRZ is $100 million over 30 years, and the county’s portion of the TIRZ is $30 million over 20 years.
