Two candidates have filed for the open Georgetown City Council seat so far, according to the city website. Alexis Joseph Fuller, an attorney, and Stevie Nicole Jones, a residential mortgage loan originator, had filed with the city of Georgetown as of 1:30 p.m. Aug. 19. Candidates have until 5 p.m. on Sept. 4 to file to run in the special election Nov. 5. City Council called a special election Aug. 13 after previous Council Member Anna Eby resigned Aug. 2 to live on an animal sanctuary farm in north Georgetown. The candidate elected to fill the vacancy will complete the remainder of the term ending in May 2021. Voters will also cast ballots for a $447 million Williamson County roads and parks bond. The last day to request a mail-in ballot for the Nov. 5 election is Oct. 25. The last day to register to vote in the November election is Oct. 7.
