City Council appointed resident Beth South to the city’s zoning and planning commission on Sept. 28.

South, who served as an interim City Council member within the past year, said she enjoyed the experience she gained on the council and was interested in continuing to serve the community.

“Beth’s 40-year residency in West Lake Hills and ability to work as part of a team will serve us well,” Mayor Linda Anthony said.

South will be replacing Eric Erickson, who served on the commission for six years and resigned Sept. 7.

Anthony said the council received four applications for the position.
