Capital Metro announced Aug. 30 it will suspend its MetroRail service over Labor Day weekend to continue construction projects for the future McKalla Station and additional double-tracking work.

The transit agency will suspend all rail service from Sept. 2-5. The McKalla Station project broke ground July 18 and will be located east of the stadium off Delta Drive. Construction is estimated at $24 million.

To aid riders, CapMetro will operate a shuttle from the Leander, Lakeline and Howard stations to downtown. CapMetro also has alternative bus service from all MetroRail station locations that can take customers downtown, although not directly to the Downtown Station.

CapMetro will also operate on a Sunday-level of service on Labor Day and will not offer MetroExpress or MetroRail shuttle service. However, its Pickup ride-hailing program will be in service.
