The Austin Community College board of trustees adopted a process for filling the vacant position in Place 5 at a meeting Feb. 21.

Former trustee Nicole Eversmann resigned from the Place 5 seat on the board at the Feb. 1 meeting. Eversmann was first elected in November 2016, and her six-year term was slated to end in 2022.

The process to fill her seat is as follows:

  • The board's officers will screen the applicants.

  • Officers then will bring to the board three to five candidates to interview.

  • The board will conduct interviews.

  • In closed session on the same date, the board members will discuss or review the candidates they interviewed.

Instead of requiring candidates to have five letters of recommendation, the board amended it to three letters of recommendation.

The board adopted the process for filling vacancy in Place 5 on the board of trustees in unanimous vote. The deadline to apply is Monday, Mar. 21.
