Austin's newest co-working space opens in a few days, but the company running it is one Austinites have seen before, with some changes.
Vuka, which opened in partnership with Impact Hub Austin off South First Street at 411 W. Monroe St., Austin, in March 2012, is redoing its business model, starting with the name change to Vuka Collective.
The company's newest co-working location at 5540 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, opens Feb. 2.

The space features an industrial, open look, with 25-foot ceilings, room to accommodate 450 people at dedicated desks, communal tables and offices as well as a private courtyard.
Janeane Tolomeo, head of marketing for the company, described the new North Lamar space as open, "very zen" and serene.
Three businesses fall under the
Vuka Collective umbrella:
Gather, which operates the venues;
Impact Hub Austin, which is in charge of co-working; and
Wake Up, a series of programs that offer personal and professional development.
All three services will be offered at the new North Lamar location.
Tolomeo said the company as a whole is working to improve communication and connections with the members by offering more happy hours, events, and lunch-and-learns.
