Cedar Park has canceled its Fourth of July neighborhood pop-up parades across the city.

According to city spokesperson Jennie Huerta, the events were canceled due to Gov. Greg Abbott's mask-wearing order issued July 2.

"Due to the governor’s latest orders that came down this afternoon, we must cancel the neighborhood pop-up parades for July 4," Huerta said in an email.

The parades were going to Cedar Park public safety and public works vehicles, and routes were designed to keep firefighters within their districts, according to the city.
