Five Leander ISD graduates received scholarships from the Austin Board of Realtors Foundation, according to an ABoR news release.

Each class of 2020 recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship, an ABoR spokesperson said in an email to Community Impact Newspaper. Recipients are as folows.

  • Leander High School: Demitri Drayton, Keon Burton-Leonard, Maria Santiago-Rojas, Nekayla Knight

  • Vandegrift High School: Sezim Minbaeva


Instead of the foundation hosting an in-person ceremony, each of the recipients is featured on the ABoR website. Each student has a landing page that includes a congratulatory, personalized video from the scholarship donor and a printable certificate. An order from Tiff’s Treats was also delivered to each scholarship winner’s home, according to the news release.

ABoR awarded 32 scholarships to Austin-area students for a total of $62,000, according to the ABoR website. Two recipients were already enrolled in college and received $1,000 scholarships, according to an ABoR spokesperson.

The ABoR Foundation has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships in the past five years, according to the news release.
