Bee Cave resident Seanne Krogman, owner of Party Couture, said she opened her party supply store to fill a need for Bee Cave residents.

“My husband and I noticed there was not a party store in the area,” she said. “[Before Party Couture opened] people would have to drive into the city to get supplies. So we thought this would really be a welcome addition.”

Krogman said she chose the Hill Country Galleria as the spot to open Party Couture because of the high level of foot traffic through the area. The store, which opened June 2014, carries a wide range of decorations, costumes, makeup and accessories.

Party Couture caters to all ages, with supplies for events ranging from “Frozen”-themed children’s birthday parties to bachelorette parties, Krogman said.

“We try to make it unique by carrying items you can’t find in big chains,” she said. “There really is something for every price point here.”

Saturday is the busiest day of the week, especially during fall, Krogman said. In addition to the holidays, Party Couture caters to high school homecoming celebrations.

“People start asking me about when Christmas decorations will be available before Halloween is even over,” she said. “[Halloween and Christmas] are definitely our busiest times of year—it’s exciting.”

Krogman, who offers a free balloon to every child who enters the store, said her favorite part of the job is interacting with her customers.

“We definitely have a following—business has continuously been picking up,” she said. “We have lots of loyal customers, and it’s always really great to see them [come] back in.”

Thriving themes

“Frozen”
“Frozen” is still selling really well,” Krogman said. “It’s definitely a go-to theme for birthday parties.”

“Star Wars”
“I just got all the new ‘Star Wars’ supplies in,” Krogman said. “The Disney vendor stopped making the original for a while, but now it’s back.”

Baby showers
“We carry a lot for the gender reveal [of a baby],” Krogman said. “A lot of people will fill a balloon with [blue or pink] confetti for that—they can get pretty creative.”

Colors
“We do really well with our solid [colors],” Krogman said. “It’s a go-to [choice] because there are so many different ways you can go with solid colors.”

Secret ingredient
Although Krogman guarantees the balloons bought in Party Couture will last for several days, she said she inflates them with a secret ingredient that can allow balloons to last up to three weeks. Krogman said the long lifespan of her balloons keeps customers coming back and gives her an edge over chain party suppliers.
