State Rep. Marsha Farney, R-Georgetown, read a resolution Jan. 7 commending Minuteman Press in Georgetown for earning the Top Overall Performance Award from Minuteman Press International Inc.

In the lobby of Minuteman Press new location at 1904 S. Austin Ave., Farney read the resolution aloud, outlining the businesss achievements in Georgetown since opening in 2006.

Our biggest thing is being involved, said Ty Gipson, Minuteman Press Georgetown franchise owner, after the reading. We love Georgetown, so its easy to get involved.

Minuteman Press is a printing company that takes on projects from business cards and invitations to signs and stamps.

Among the achievements read by Farney were: the Georgetown location becoming a member of the Minutemans Presidents Million Dollar Circle, reserved for franchises that exceed $1 million in annual sales; owners Ty and Crystal Gipsons ongoing involvement with the Georgetown community; and winning the 2007 Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award.

They are pillars of the community for sure, Farney said in regards to Minuteman Press business and the Gipsons' involvement in the city. "You like to see good businesses flourish."

The resolution concluded with sincere best wishes for continued success of the business.

Our goal is to keep doing what were doing, Gipson said. Service, service, service. If we get better, then well be more profitable. Its just fine-tuning the team.
