Bastrop ISD teachers, students navigate new curriculum to improve STAAR scores

Bastrop ISD students and teachers are using new curriculum throughout the district this year. Focusing on on-grade-level reading and engaging material, the curriculum aims to increase the district's State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness passing rates.

Bastrop students to gain work-based learning opportunities through apprenticeship program

The Acutronic Apprenticeship Alliance will offer students mentorship and hands-on experience opportunities in the fields of engineering and robotics next year. The alliance is part of the district's Pathways in Technology Early College High School, or P-TECH, a dual-enrollment program in which high school students can earn college credit hours and certifications for free.


Bastrop ISD expands digital learning opportunities with Amazon Boot-Up program

Bastrop ISD was awarded a partnership with Amazon Future Engineer and Boot-Up Professional Development, a nonprofit organization with the mission to increase opportunities for elementary school students to engage in and learn about computer science. The initiative will be implemented this December during the district’s computer science education week.
