Bastrop’s only coworking space recently opened inside Bastrop Fitness Project, offering a shared office environment with amenities and opportunities to connect with others.

In a nutshell

Owner Richard "RB" Brown and his wife Chris Kelly opened Bastrop CoWork on March 1.

“There’s just something about being with people, in person,” Brown said. “I have worked remotely since 2020, and I realized I needed to be out around others and thought other folks in the community would be in a similar situation.”

What they offer

The coworking space offers:
  • Wi-FI
  • Three sit-stand desks
  • Monitors
  • Phone chargers
  • Plug-in capabilities
  • Television
  • Whiteboards and markers
  • Printing capabilities

The cost

Bastrop CoWork offers two options to book a desk or the entire room: an $80 monthly membership or a la carte.

The membership guarantees at least eight hours per month of the entire office.

Members can book the office beyond those eight hours or drop in to use one of the shared desks as availability allows, Brown said.

Memberships can be purchased online here.

Those without memberships can book as needed on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested contribution of $5 an hour for a desk or $15 an hour for the office.

“Really, that is just a suggestion,” Brown said. “If you find the space useful, please contribute and help us keep it open.”

What else?

Bastrop Cafe, located just outside the coworking space, has partnered with Bastrop CoWork to offer additional perks.

“We have coffee mugs in Bastrop CoWork, and you can take a mug over there to get 10% off,” Brown said.

Notable quote

“I really want this place to feel like you’re walking into your office, and everything you need is right here,” Brown said. “Our passion is to connect people in the community and provide a service that they find useful.”
