In a nutshell
The open house will begin around 5 p.m. and offer a time for the team to have a meet-and-greet with those attending—letting them know about the expanded selection of new and used musical instruments, as well as music-related accessories and gifts.
The details
In late August, Gary Blake took the store from a 600-square-foot spot in downtown Bastrop to a 5,000-square-foot space in the Colorado Crossing Shopping Center.
"It is a big difference," Gary Blake said. "I'm excited to be able to keep more new and used instruments in stock, and this will also give us a better parking situation for customers."
What they offer
Shoppers at the one-stop-music-shop can find a range of related items, including but not limited to:
- String and percussion instruments like guitars, violins, ukuleles, drums and pianos
- Band instruments like saxophones, trumpets and flutes
- Accessories like headphones, tuners, microphones, pedals and amplifiers
- Gifts like vintage band T-shirts, jewelry and toys
What else?
Although the store is geared to provide items for people of all ages, Gary Blake said he created the shop with a focus on providing a musical haven for children.
"I've been a musician for a very long time," Gary Blake said. "Music was my refuge from bullying when I was a kid, and I want to continue creating a safe space for kids to show them that they can do this and to make sure they know they are in a judgment-free zone."
