Four instructors take participants through an intensive exploration of clay wheel, clay sculpture and hand-building and firing clay. Fifth Annual Purgatory Trail Run
The annual event is open to walkers, hikers and runners and includes a 10-mile and 5K course. More experienced trail runners may experience some difficult technical sections of trail during the race. The 5K course is rigorous with a medium technical rating and is an introduction into trail running. Runners and walkers receive a T-shirt. No dogs are allowed, and there are no refunds. 8 a.m. (packet pickup), 9 a.m.-noon (run). $25 (5K before Jan. 15), $30 (5K race day), $35 (10-mile before Jan. 15), $40 (10-mile race day). Blood Drive
Kyle United Methodist Church is hosting a blood drive in the church parking lot. People donating blood should eat a full meal before and bring a photo ID. Appointments can be made online here.
