With 140 of 401 Harris County election day voting centers reporting, incumbent Senfronia Thompson has garnered 84% of votes, or 5,100 total votes, according to preliminary numbers from the Texas Secretary of State's Office.
"I'm just grateful for my constituents for giving me another opportunity to represent them," Thompson said in a phone interview. "I think that I worked hard, I listened to my constituents, I have fought for the issues, and I have done due diligence for their concern, and I thought that I was deserving based upon my [decision] to go back [for office], and they felt the same way."
Candidate Willie Roaches Franklyn has received 954, or 16% of the vote. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
