Cutting down on wait times while still receiving great care was the initial inspiration for opening AFC Urgent Care-Coppell. The urgent care center opened in July and has been steadily serving patients in a quick, efficient manner.

Located at 760 N. Denton Tap Road, Ste. R150, in Coppell, the center is an independent urgent care and is not affiliated with any of the hospital systems.

“It's quality care that's affordable, which I feel is becoming lost,” marketing manager Rick Leslie said. “Ever since COVID sort of hit, we're just always in a rush to send somebody to the hospital, which not only does it impact patient care, but it also impacts quality of care in terms of wait time. The urgent care, especially with AFC, really gave me an opportunity to be part of the community that can also be a service to the community.”

While other emergency centers can bring exorbitant costs, AFC Urgent Care is able to stay affordable since the center is in-network. Depending on what insurance a patient has, they could end up paying as little as $0 for treatment.

The urgent care center is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The center takes walk-ins, or patients can set up an appointment online.

“​​I want everybody to feel as if you're being treated like this is your own family member,” Leslie said. “That, to me, is the key to success in health care. We tend to forget that there are still people behind the names and the date of births. We can do that in a manner which also not only provides quality care, but does it in an efficient manner, to where we're able to see our patients, and they don't have to spend the entire day at the hospital.”
