Rivian
The electric vehicle manufacturer opened a showroom on South Congress Avenue. The indoor and outdoor space includes lounge areas and a rooftop patio. The location also offers direct access to biking and walking trails along Lady Bird Lake. Demo drives are available by appointment.
Fig Italian Kitchen & Bar
From Michelin Plate awarded Chef Cole Fitzgerald and owner James Sun, the new restaurant offers Italian cuisine such as handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza and seafood.
The Bougie Foodie
The South Austin dessert food truck opened its first brick-and-mortar shop on South Congress Avenue. Owner Brianna Cryar first opened at Hamilton Food Truck Park in North Austin last year then relocated to 1311 South 1st Park. The Bougie Foodie sells cookies, cakes, brownies, boozy bread and more.
Wow Poke
Food truck Wow Poke has opened at bar Cosmic Pickle, offering poke, dumplings, wings and wraps. Wow Poke also has two other locations in Austin.

Biggie’s Yardbird
From the same team behind Armadillo Den and Dainty Dillo, food truck Biggie’s Yardbird will offer chicken, smash burgers and fries at bar Cosmic Pickle.
East Side King
Japanese-inspired restaurant East Side King will open a food truck at bar Cosmic Pickle in early September. The restaurant was founded by Motoyasu Utsunomiya and Paul Qui. East Side King also has a brick and mortar on South Lamar.
OroBianco Italian Creamery
The food truck located in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood will sell gelato, made in small batches by hand using grass-fed water buffalo milk and other farm-fresh ingredients.
Life Time
An athletic club is set to join restaurants Postino Wine Cafe and Paperboy as well as apartment complex The Bouldin in a mixed-use development. Life Time will offer training and fitness space, a spa and group classes. Construction is expected to begin later this year.
Closings
Aviary Wine & Kitchen
Aviary Wine & Kitchen closed after 18 years of business. The South Austin eatery also offered an extensive wine list and wine club. Owner Mike Smith of the Hearth and Counter hospitality group, who helped stave off Aviary's closure last year, cited financial pressures including high commercial rents as factors behind the closure.
