The team behind Armadillo Den will open two new bars in East Austin.

What you need to know

Dainty Dillo, a spin-off of South Austin bar Armadillo Den, will open in the former Tillery Bar and Kitchen space in late February. The new spot will have a large back patio with extensive seating, firepits, live music and views overlooking the river.

Dainty Dillo’s menu features draft cocktails, beer and seltzers, along with salads, patty melts, chicken sandwiches and Texas Cheesesteak from Biggie’s Yard Bird. Brunch options include loaded chilaquiles, crab cake Benedict, sweet potato hash and biscuits.

The group is also working with the team behind Murray’s Tavern to launch Chalmer’s, a Texas ice house and live music venue, at a renovated former Shell gas station. This new spot will have ample outdoor seating, two on-site food trucks, a live music stage and a dog park. The menu will feature "East Texas flair," including cocktails, draft beer, patty melts, steak fingers and other pub food.
