Owner and local mom Ashley Cameron now offers her gourmet cookies on South Lamar with 14 flavors yearround and seasonal options sprinkled in. Cameron began baking and experimenting with recipes from family and friends—which her cookies are named after—as a way to connect with her son who was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease. Cameron also raises awareness of Kawasaki disease through the packaging of her treats, as well as donations from Love&Cookies to the Kawasaki Kids Foundation.

Antonelli’s Cheese

Started by locals John and Kendall Antonelli, the couple opened a by-reservation-only tasting room and private event space at Lamar Union in the former Estilo Outlet space. In addition to cheese tastings, Antonelli's Cheese offers classes to educate those attending about all things cheese, as well as space to book private events. The tasting room also offers the option to pick up cheese trays, and their popular Cheese Club boxes.The Diamond Reserve

Founded by Kaeleigh Testuide in Colorado, The Diamond Reserve opened its first Texas location. The jeweler offers virtual and in-person appointments for custom engagement rings.Donkey Mo’s


Business partners Brian Kim, Youngmin Noh and Charlie Oh opened the Korean-style fried chicken eatery offering wings, dumplings and more with a range of sauces including soy garlic, sweet and sour, sweet and spice, and a house specialty sauce called Holy Donkey.Eggman ATX

The Bouldin Creek neighborhood eatery specializes in New York-style breakfast sandwiches served inside rolls that are available all day. Options include egg and cheese, with or without sausage or bacon, and The Big Mess made with eggs, bacon, sausage and cheese topped with Eggman’s Sauce—a sweet, spicy and tangy dressing.Scruff's Barbershop

Tim Durant opened his second inclusive barbershop in South Austin that aims to be welcoming to the LGBT community, offering haircuts, coloring and chemical treatments. The original Austin location will remain open at 1601 E. Fifth St., Austin. The new spot's location coincides with the 5th anniversary of Scruff's Barbershop.Coming soon

Postino Wine Cafe


The 179-seat all-day restaurant and wine cafe will open its first Austin spot this summer. Postino Wine Cafe will offer wines and craft beers, as well as food such as bruschetta, panini, salads, charcuterie boards and shareables.In the news

Lucchese Bootmaker


The bootmaker hasn't yet formally shared any plans regarding a new Austin storefront. However, a state filing indicates Lucchese may aim to build out nearly 4,000 square feet in the business district in a space most recently occupied by boutique Maya Star. The national retailer has several Texas locations, with one in Austin, specializing in boots, hats and leather goods.
